Step 1: Once you install the add-on, head back to your sheet, select the cells you want to merge, and click Extensions > Merge Values > Start from the menu. You can view these permissions in the description for the extension. Keep in mind that Merge Values is a third-party add-on requiring access to your Google account for Google Sheets.
